As you can probably guess, I'm not dead. Good for me. Some of my guys did get banged up, but we all walked away from this one. I'm kind of sure I cracked a few ribs, but I don't want to see a Doc. because I want to leave here on time. In a few short days I will be the Fuck out of Iraq. A few days after that I will be out of the damned army. I must say that I became very depressed after our ride touched down and it was all over. I fully understood that all my missions are done. Many years spent trying to be the best at something and then just turning my back on it. They did offer me a nice chunk of change to stay, but it's never been about money. so that plays no part in my decision. I said I would give it some thought over the next few months.
In a day or so, Neika will be in Germany. So thats one more chapter in my life closeing on a down note. Whoever was the first person to say time heals all wounds should be kicked somewhere very painful. She or he was full of shit!
